LIVE ONLINE COURSE ON DIRECTING FOR  THEATRE

DATES:
18 JUN 2026 - 4 AUG 2026
DURATION:
7 WEEKS
TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS
7:30 PM BST

Your stage, your rules. Translate ideas into performance, orchestrate creative teams, and lead productions that captivate audiences.

All under the guidance of Roxana Silbert, an award-winning theatre director who has led major companies, shaped countless plays, and launched the careers of today’s leading playwrights.

THIS COURSE IS FOR YOU, IF...

  • YOU ARE AN ASSISTANT DIRECTOR READY TO STEP UP

You’ve supported productions from the sidelines, but taking full creative responsibility is a different challenge. This theatre director course helps you shape a clear directorial vision, practise casting and staging decisions, and confidently move from “assistant” to the person leading the room.

  • YOU WORK IN STAGE MANAGEMENT OR PRODUCTION

You know how shows run, but stepping into the creative seat can feel like unfamiliar territory. Here, you’ll learn how to interpret scripts, guide actors, and lead artistic conversations — turning your production experience into a strong foundation for directing.

  • YOU ARE AN INDEPENDENT OR EARLY-CAREER DIRECTOR

You have the passion and ideas, but limited access to mentorship, training, or structured feedback. This course gives you practical directing tools, live rehearsal-style exercises, and expert guidance so you can develop your voice — and build the confidence and portfolio piece needed to pursue professional directing opportunities.

YOUR ASCENT STARTS HERE

Directing isn’t theory — it’s decisions.

From pitch to curtain call — learn every step of theatre directing. Get hands-on with text analysis, staging, rehearsal techniques, and actor collaboration — everything it takes to bring a play to life.

Vision becomes performance power.

Your passion for theatre meets directing skills through live, interactive sessions and guided feedback from an experienced professional in the UK theatre scene — a world-leading hub for musicals, dramas, and Shakespearean plays.

ABOUT THE COURSE

Step inside the working theatre through case studies of real productions — from Anne Boleyn the Musical to King Lear — from rehearsal room to opening night. And guest sessions will offer an inside look at creative teams' collaboration to bring productions to life.

03
FINAL PROJECT

You’ll assemble a professional portfolio — including your vision statement, synopsis, character breakdowns, design mood boards, fantasy casting, and a video pitch — the package directors use to convince producers and funders that their show deserves the stage.
